• Compensator System: Unique reversing mirror compensator (pendulum mirror suspended at half focal distance). Measurements are taken in an initial and a reversed position to establish a “quasi-absolute horizon”.
• Backsight/Foresight Independence: Eliminates the need to strictly equalize backsight and foresight distances (tolerates differences up to 10 cm). 
• Telescope: Features a swivelled eyepiece allowing the operator to measure laterally alongside the tripod without moving. 
• Focusing: System focusing via shifting the pendulum mirror combined with an objective micrometer.
